(I'm Getting Paranoid) But Really, I Didn't Say That |
Now look you idiot, I did NOT say that. You can twist my words all you want, but I did NOT say that. My anger doesn't come from people giving me negative reviews: My anger comes from people posting reviews asking my to add Keywords, or plugging another person's website, or telling the life story of a cast-member, WITHOUT actually reviewing the item. We have a forum for the previously mentioned nonsense.
Look, you can add info on the cast or a personal story in the review if you want, and sometimes that can be interesting. But, the keyword here is "review", and if you don't bother to actually review the content, of course I'm gonna get angry. Even if it just a simple comment like "OK, sorta funny" or "Bland, rather dull", that's ok, since at least that actually counts as being a review, just STOP posting things like "Susie and Daisy fu***d each other in the closet" on, for a random example, a 1960s Kodak commercial.

Now here is where I show restraint and courtesy... I WANTED to be funny and post something about "Goodness! What kind of Kodak commercial was that?" but I chose not to... actually, no, I guess I didn't, did I?

Where's the link to that Kodak commercial? It sounds like one I shouldn't miss!

Re: (I'm Getting Paranoid) But Really, I Didn't Say That |
No. Rick Prelinger is King of the Internet Archive. We've had some minor littles battles over land (we've since had a cease-fire).
Which brings up the question, if Rick is King, then who is Queen, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, the guys who host some lame car show on the Government-funded broadcaster, etc etc.
(Note: I've had to edit this several times due to spelling mistakes I made, I type really fast and the results can be a problem)

I hope to look for some more PSAs to upload in about a half-hour or so. I've found two in my DVD collection so far: A "don't start forest fires" PSA from the 1950s ("Your Hit Parade"), and a "be careful when driving" PSA from the 1960s ("The Face is Familiar")

Re: (I'm Getting Paranoid) But Really, I Didn't Say That |
I don't review videos or read others' reviews at Classic TV anymore. Just too many loons hang out here. Some reviewers of Feature Films also use the space to expound on the history of a film, talk about downloading problems, repeat what they learned in their film studies class, comment on other comments, etc., but don't give a review. In short, some treat the space as a blog's comment section, and that's disappointing. It doesn't happen much, and it doesn't make me angry. It could be worse.

I don't mind people giving info or personal stories, as long as they are accompanied with an actual review. (though, I must admit, I've had to delete several of my own reviews, usually written when half-asleep, due to the low quality of some of them)

The plane! I haven't seen that show for a few years (it was shown a few years ago on a now-crappy cable channel where I live called "TV1"), I liked the two or three episodes I saw from those repeats. So, since it cannot be uploaded, anything else with some of the same cast that can be uploaded? If so, anyone have copies? Is anyone even still reading this thread?

What I meant was, Sony blocked that
exact video. They haven't blocked YouTube where I live yet (Australia), though, I would not be shocked if Canada or the UK banned it for having "politically incorrect" content (such as Humpty Dumpty falling off the wall and *not* being put together again). LOL.

Sounds like Political Correctness has railroaded you Right to free speech just like here in the good-ole-USA. Huh! I think Americans invented Political Correctness. In which case, on behalf of my country, I am truly sorry.

Humpty Dumpty Sat on the wall.
Humpty dumpty had a great fall.
All the King's horses and all the King's men,
Trot on him. I would say this is the best version of them all. Far better than the BBC's inane adaptation.

Ten points for that one. Okay, time to say farewell and hooky dorky to this forum. I'm going over to the Democracy Now forum (one of them. There are two). Care to join me? It seems to be a lonely forum and I feel sorry for it. Ta-Ta.

"Kung Fu", bub. As in David Carradine. It was martial art action series set in the old west. Very popular in it's day.
